Thanksgiving

For everyone in America, Happy Thanksgiving! Unfortunately for us Aussies, we don't really have a special holiday to give thanks.

Here are three reasons why I need to be thankful this year:

1. Chris Martin & Coldplay

Chris, Jonny, Will and Guy have really made my life a lot more colourful. I didn't know how I've survived for so long without listening to their music. I just adore everything about Coldplay. Their music, the way they present themselves, their music videos, concert - everything. There's not one day since 'Viva La Vida' came out that I didn't listen to the song. It's my favourite song of all time...honestly.

Oh, and my favourite band member is Chris. Not just because he's a multi-talented frontman. He's also funny, kind, down-to-earth and have I mentioned how talented he is?

2.James McAvoy

I just love James. He's such a good actor and he stars in the kind of movies I love to watch. He's also really good with his facial expressions that he doesn't really need to say anything to convey a deeply emotional scene..I feel like I could understand him just by looking at his face.
I also like him because he's so 'normal' and his relationship with his wife, Anne-Marie seems so healthy (unlike most Hollywood couples).

3.Henry Cavill and 'The Tudors'

I started watching 'The Tudors' because of JRM (Jonathan Rhys-Meyers) but what kept me watching this TV series is Henry Cavill. He's the only man I could think of whose physicality is almost perfect (in my opinion). And as a plus, he can also act! He's quite a private person so I don't know much about what kind of person he is...but so far, I'm happy just to watch him in 'The Tudors' or on occasional interviews.

Gwynnie is out promoting another 'rich person' cause on Monday, November 23. She seems to be doing more of that (oh, and writing her lovely GOOP blog) and a lot less of acting in good films and being involved in causes that actually means something.

I used to like Gwynnie, she wasn't bad in 'Shakespeare In Love', which is one of my favourite movies of all time. But now I just find her extremely annoying. She hasn't been in any good movies since. She has this 'Minnie Mouse' whiney voice, but I also can't stand everything about her. Even the fact that she's got a beautiful body, her gorgeous hair and her amazing designer clothes. Hey, I have an excuse. She married Chris Martin, whom I completely adore and who should be married to a woman with a lot more substance and talent than annoying Gwynnie.

I love this girl! I never really liked country music before but there's just something about Taylor that I couldn't resist. She's so young, so sweet and so talented. She's definitely not your typical teenage pop princess. Unlike the Lindsays, Mileys or Hilarys, she actually write her own songs, doesn't get drunk and take drugs. Nowadays, we are desperately in need for more role models like her. I think she deserve all the awards she's been receiving lately. Go Taylor!

James McAvoy's smile

James is one of my favourite actors and I just LOVE him. Why? Well, there are countless reasons which I'd love to jot down one day, just not today. Also, this is such an adorable picture and I know that it will make me feel warm and fuzzy whenever I see it.

Kristen Stewart's Style

I've always admired Kristen's acting. I thought she's excellent as Bella. But I adored this 19 year old even more after seeing her in other movies. She is really the teenage queen of Indie movies, and she reminds me a bit of Amy Adams. I loved her in 'Adventureland' and 'Cake Eaters'. I haven't seen 'Into The Wild' but people raved on about her performance in that movie.

Lately, I've also been an admirer of this 19 year old's fashion sense. I love her casual style (hoodies, T-shirts and sneakers) and most of all, I love her formal dresses. The Valentino and Jason Wu dress she wore to the New Moon premieres are especially beautiful. If only I can afford designer dresses.

Keira Knightley

She is young, beautiful and down-to-earth. I've been a fan of Keira's since I saw her in 'Bend it Like Beckham'. I think I've seen all her movies since then. I'd really love to see her in 'The Misanthrope' which is the Moliere play in the West End where she plays the lead, alongside Damian Lewis. The play opens in December 7...that's only a few weeks away. But being many thousand miles away from London, what chance have I got?

Anyway, here's Keira in the COCO MADMOISELLE advertisement, directed by Joe Wright. I think I've seen this ad more than 10 times.

I heard this song in October last year, while I was listening to the radio in the South of France. We were having a great time (as normally people would when they're on a holiday) and this song really captured me. Strangely enough, it took me more than a year to re-discover this song again. This song never took off in Australia so I never heard it in our local radio stations.

Now that I found this song again, I'm absolutely addicted to it. Amy MacDonald, the 22 year old Scottish singer is really talented...and I can't wait to hear more from her.
